   Edgy Teleri teenagers writing Maedhros/Maglor incest as like, a
~statement~.  They scoff at how shallow and naive all the Tuor/Idril and
Luthien/Beren shippers are and how cliche and boring het romance is.  
There are arguments over whether Turin/Nienor or Turin/Beleg is more
transgressive (= better).  (Now I have to invent Telerin Goth fashion

   Just headcanon tbh, since these children are mixed noldor and teleri
and we have Finrod be very Noldor, and Galadriel have her identity
issues, I like the idea of one of the kids feeling more connected to the
other side 🙂 A friend suggested that might also be why Angrod gets
sent as an emissary to Thingol in the first place when a diplomatic
beast like Finrod would prolly be better hahahaha maybe he just had the
Teleri face and Teleri vibe?

I have no doubt that Gildor Inglorion and most of his other companions in Three is Company (and probably a number of the ppl from Rivendell, esp the elves who show up in the Grey Havens) are exiles, but yeeaaahhh a very limited pool! (This is another big reason I’m so picky about interpretations of galadriel’s arc i think. a representative microcosm in part, not just a personal story). And Glorfindel has….not the same sort of shared dynamic at all, if anything he’s probably more like the istari as far as valinor relationships go…

YES it is really just a good way of solidifying one’s opinions or getting to think about something you never really paid attention to before because you previously had no definite interpretation, but THAT one is DEFINITELY wrong 🙂 I guess it serves the same function as like….brainstorming with friends, but with added motivation to develop Your Own Version or smth

Thanks! Though I feel like I need to confess….I can’t exactly count “even-handedness” as my top priority here. I mean, Maglor is def fascinating, but the main thing is that I just care more about E&E as characters than I care about Maglor as a character, and wanted an excuse for E&E’s personalities and early lives to NOT be dominated and defined by Maglor and therefore become yet another two characters who are co-opted into existing in terms of their relationship with the Feanorians. Rather than the much more interesting path of having their early lives dominated by the giant apocalyptic war and flood lmao.
