Pharaoh Ramses II’s Egyptian passport, issued in 1976 for passage to France nearly three millennia after his death.
In order to leave the country, Egypt required anyone leaving the country, living or dead, to have the proper papers. Seemingly the first mummy to receive one, Ramses had his occupation listed as “King (deceased).”
Art hasn’t been happen but I wanted to finish up something apropos for Halloween! I stole the idea of fruit bat!Thuringwethil from either @thulimo or @moringottos; she’s modeled after one of my favorite bats to work with, Glossophaga soricina. Glossophaga are nectar-drinking bats, and like hummingbirds, they burn energy almost as fast as they can take it in. My conception of vampires wrt Thuringwethil as that she is always, insatiably hungry without the flowers of Yavanna to drink from and is constantly gorged and bloated with blood to try and satisfy that. Gross!
I’m reblogging Bat Wife to main because 1) Halloween and 2) bat.
