“and in the midst upon a golden pyramid was set an image of Laurelin, the Tree of the Sun, with flowers wrought of topaz in long clusters upon chains of gold.“ – Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin, Unfinished Tales

Because of that description I imagine Laurelin’s flowers looking something like golden wisteria. If anyone with photoshop-skills wants to take this and make it look like its glowing that would be cool because I can’t

My edit: Favorite Female Characters in Tolkien’s Legendarium: Aredhel Ar-Feinel, The White Lady of Gondolin

Their sister was Aredhel the White. She was younger in years of the Eldar than her brothers; and when she was grown to full stature and beauty she was tall and strong, and loved much to ride and hunt in the forests. There she was often in the company of the sons of Fëanor, her kin; but to none was her heart’s love given. ( J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion,

Of Eldamar and  the Princes of the Eldalie)
