andie, she/her, 26, united states. this blog is full of Tolkien. also other art, photos, fandoms, and big-eyes-emoji stuff, but mostly Tolkien. i tag! my girlfriend is bright ivanaskye, who is a lot, but not too much
I’m trying to get early han emperors straight and I think tolkien could really have benefited from studying more imp chinese history because it offers such rich examples of generational back-and-forth, as far as coveting eternal life goes. “Also, after a short foray into magic in 61 BC, Emperor Xuan realized the follies of seeking immortality, and abandoned the would-be costly venture (unlike, for example, his great-grandfather Emperor Wu).” GREAT JOB EMPEROR XUAN, YOU DID OK and probably only drank like one liter of lead
spock learning that calling someone ‘the bee’s knees’ is, however illogically, a sign of esteem and affection
spock informing jim that he is ‘not the knees of the bee, as the bee does not have knees, but the hind leg, middle leg, foreleg, and antennae cleaner of the bee, and perhaps also the pollen press, sting, and spiracle of the bee as well’
and bones is like ‘congratulations, jim, you’re the bee’s spiracle’
anyway i’m glad i have my own subgenre, this makes everything i say much eaasier, thank u ghoul ❤
I dreamed I was in Numenor during Ar-Pharazon’s reign trying to write a factually correct history book, and while I don’t remember exactly what transpired next, it led to me lying in a marble coin fountain in the palace courtyard from Mughal-E-Azam crying and with my hair falling out from a nervous breakdown, while Tar-Miriel stomped around in the fountain ‘looking for me’ in order to step on me with her thigh-high high-heeled boots and tell me to stop whining and get back to work.
There was a Byzantine court title called ‘hyperprōtopansebastohypertatos’ and I think that is delightful
even the author of this blurb is stupefied by this titling process I’m living
#emperor: we don’t have any open positions right now #minor official: please I just need something to put on my resume (via @the-artifice-of-eternity )
